What are the childish things?

1Cor 13:8 Love never ends; but whether there be predictions, they shall lose their roles when the event comes to pass; whether there be tongues, they can pause (1Cor 14:30); whether there be a word of knowledge (1Cor 12:8), it will also lose its purpose when the event comes to pass.

1Cor 13:9 Because we understand in parts, indeed we prophesy in parts.

Heb 1:1 YHVH, who at various times and in many separate revelations spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets.

1Cor 13:10 But when the fulfillment is come, then the parts shall become inconsequential.

1Cor 13:11 When I (the prophecy) was a child (one of the parts), I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man (when I became the fulfillment), I laid down the childish things.

The childish things were pieces of the prophecy puzzle, which were laid out and interlocked to become the fulfillment.

1Cor 13:12 For now we see through a mirror, blurrily (Hos 12:10); but then (when a prophecy becomes fulfilled) face to face; now I know in parts; but then shall I know what the prophecy meant as well as I know myself.

Hindsight is always 20-20:

Luk 10:24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see the things you see yet didn't see them; to hear the things you hear yet didn't hear them.

1Pet 1:9-12 Receiving the goal of your faith, even your repatriation (in the Resurrection, see the Sidebar above right). Of which repatriation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the favor that should come unto you; searching what, or what manner of time the anointing of the Messiah of Israel (which was on them) did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of the Messiah of Israel, and the revelation that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, not unto themselves but unto us, that they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have announced the good news to you by an anointing that set them apart, the message sent down from Heaven; which things the messengers (the prophets, Hag 1:13) desired to look into.

1Cor 13:13 These three never end: faith, hope and love; but the greatest of these is love.
