Mat 23:29-30 Woe to you, Talmudists and Pharisees, hypocrites! You build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, and you say, “If we had lived in the days of our Fathers, we wouldn't have taken part with them in shedding the prophets' blood.”

Mat 23:31-32 Therefore you testify against yourselves that you are Sons of the Fathers who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your Fathers' sins!

Mat 23:33 Snakes! Generation of vipers! How can you Pharisees escape the Judgment of Gehenna (an idiom for Exile. Gehenna is the Tophet Ravine outside of Jerusalem, Isa 30:33; Jer 7:31)?

Mat 23:34-36 This is why I am sending to you (the Pharisees) prophets, wise men, and correspondents. Some of them you Pharisees will kill and impale, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and hound from town to town. So all the righteous blood, shed on the Land will be charged to you Pharisees, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered (vs. 31-32) between the sanctuary and the altar (i.e., from Genesis 4:8 to 2Chr 24:20-22, the first and last books in the original order of the Tanach). I assure you: All these things will come on this generation of vipers (these followers of Pharisaic Judaism)!

Mat 23:37-39 Jerusalem, Jerusalem! The City of the Pharisees who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her (vs. 31-32). How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, yet you City of the Pharisees were not willing! See, your King's House (1Kin 3:1) is left to you without leadership (Jer 22:1-9). For I tell you, you (the King's House) will never see me again until you say, “Blessed is he who comes in the Name of YHVH!"

Mat 24:1-2 As Yeshua left and was going out of the Temple complex, his students came up and called his attention to the Temple buildings. Then he replied to them, "Don't you see all these things (Psa 51:18-19)? I assure you: Not one stone will be left here on another that will not be thrown down (Josh 4:5)!"

Mat 24:3 While He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the students approached Him privately and said, "Tell us, when these things will happen? And what is the indication of your returning to the King's House and of the end of our current situation?" (Keep in mind that the students would not accept Yeshua’s statements about his imminent death. Their expectation was the immediate advent of the Messianic Kingdom, Act 1:6).

Mat 24:4-5 Then Yeshua replied to them: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my "Name" (Mat 23:39b; Deu 18:19-20), saying, 'I am the Messiah,' and they will deceive the majority (Please read “Rabbi Akiba's Messiah” by Daniel Gruber for a partial fulfillment of this prophecy).

Mat 24:6-8 You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not foolish, because these things must take place, but the goal is not yet reached. For a nation within the beast’s empire will rise up against another nation within the beast’s empire (the clash among the Edomites that eventually developed into the struggle between Shi'a Islam and Sunni Islam; see the chapter "666"), even kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines within the beast’s empire and quakes in different places.  All these events are the beginning of birth pains.

Mat 24:9-13 Then the generation of vipers will hand you over for persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all the occupying nations because of my name. Then the majority (the followers of Pharisaic Judaism, the generation of vipers) will be entrapped, and betray one another and hate one another, because many false prophets will rise up and deceive the majority. Torah-less-ness will multiply; the love of the majority will grow cold. But the one who endures until the goal is reached will be regathered (Mat 24:31).

Mat 24:14 This good news of the Kingdom of YHVH in Israel (see the section called Blessed in the chapter entitled "Who are the Redeemable") will be proclaimed in the whole earth as a warning to all nations within the beast’s empire. And then the goal will be reached.

Mat 24:15-20 So when you see the abomination (the metamorphosis) that causes desolation (Eze 5:1-5; Zech 13:8-9; Joh 4:21; Rev 16:19; Jer 4:27-31), spoken of by the prophet Daniel, being established in the Holy City of Jerusalem (let the reader understand that Jerusalem will morph into Babylon), then those in Judea must flee to the mountains (the Arabian Mountains at Sinai; see the notes on verse 27, below)! A man on the housetop must not come down to get things out of his house. And a man in the field must not go back to get his clothes. Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days! Pray that your escape may not be on a Sabbath.

There will be a six day period for the Remnant to flee Jerusalem before the Destruction begins on the seventh day (see Gen 7:10 margin). If someone is still in the Holy City on the Sabbath (7th day) --- it will be too late.

Mat 24:21-22 For at that time there will be great tribulation (Deu 8:2-3,16), the kind that hasn't taken place from the beginning of the world until now and never will again! Unless those days were limited (referring to the “regular” and the “leap” years -- see Sidebar above right), no one would survive. But those days will be limited because of the elect (refering to the Remnant mentioned in the chapter called "What Must I Do to Be Safe").

Mat 24:23-26 If anyone tells you then, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or, 'Over here!' do not believe it! False messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect (Isa 45:4). Take note: I have told you in advance. So if they tell you, 'Look, he's outside!' don't go out; 'Look, he's inside!' do not believe it.

Mat 24:27-28 For as the lightning (Zec 9:14) comes from the east (from the Mountains of Sinai in Arabia, Deu 33:2; Judges 5:4-5; Hab 3) and flashes as far as the west (Israel), so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever the carcass is (the desolate City of Jerusalem, vs. 15), there the vultures will gather (Eze 5:5).

Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days: The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken (Heb 12:26-28).

“Here the symbols of sun, moon, and stars design the Jewish Rabbis --- who departed from the word of God, and set up their traditions above it, fell into vain and senseless interpretations of it, and into debates about things contained in their Talmud; the foundation of which began to be laid immediately upon their dispersion into other countries” (A commentary of Mat 24:29 from John Gill's “Exposition of the Entire Bible”).

Mat 24:30-31 Then the Sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky (see the New Moon notes at vs. 36 below). They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory and then all the peoples of the “whole earth” will mourn. He will send out his angels with a Loud Shofar, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other (Isa 27:12-13).

Deu 30:3-4 Then YHVH thy Elohim will return thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the peoples, whither YHVH thy Elohim hath scattered thee. If any of thine that are dispersed be in the uttermost parts of heaven, from thence will YHVH thy Elohim gather thee, and from thence will He fetch thee.

Isa 11:12 He will lift up a banner for the nations and gather the dispersed of Israel; He will collect the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Mat 24:32-35 Now learn this parable from the fig tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer harvest is near (Mat 13:39; Jer 8:20). In the same way, when you see all these things, recognize that the harvest is near--at the door! I assure you: This generation of vipers (this sect of Pharisaic or Rabbinic Judaism) will certainly not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth (a derisive expression for contemporaneous authority, see Gill’s comments for verse 29 --- in contrast compare Isa 66:1) will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Mat 24:36 Now concerning that day and hour of the Loud Shofar no one can calculate--neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son--except the Father only.

The Day of the Loud Shofar is called Yom Teruah (Lev 23:24; Psa 89:15). No one can know the day or hour because the first day of a month is observed by watching for a New Moon:

Psa 81:3 Blow up the Shofar in the New Moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn Feast Day of Yom Teruah.

Psa 104:19 Who appoints the moon for seasons; the sun knows his going down.

Mat 24:37-39 As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be (vs. 29-31). For in those days before the flood they (by implication: a generation of vipers) were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage (propagating their ideology), until the day Noah boarded the ark. They didn't know until the flood came and swept them all away. So this is the way the return of the Son of Man will be.

Mat 24:40-41 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and one left (Heb 12:26-28; Mat 13:41; Amo 5:18; Isa 13:13).

Mat 24:42-44 Therefore be alert, since you don't know what day your Adon is coming. But know this: If the Master (the High Priest) of the House (the Temple) had known what time the thief (the New Moon, vs. 36) was coming, he would have stayed alert (he would have watched for the New Moon and not rely on the errant calendar of the Talmudists) and not let his celestial house (the sky) be broken into. This is why you also must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you cannot predetermine.

Mat 24:45-51 Who then is a faithful and sensible slave, whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give them food at the proper time? (The proper time is the New Moon). That slave whose master finds him working when he comes will be rewarded. I assure you: He will put him in charge of all his possessions. But if that wicked slave (the Pharisees, the generation of vipers) says in his heart, 'My master is delayed,' and starts to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks with drunkards, that slave's master will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not know. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (deep seated resentment, Psa 112).
